I really enjoyed bidding in the auction a couple of weeks ago, although lunch with Nate Silver did seem out of reach for me with my tight budget. Still, I was genuinely excited to be the winning bidder on the Livestrong cap signed by Lance Armstrong. Lance has been one of my personal heroes for years and I have been inspired by his example of strength and courage. I told everybody I knew (especially my students) that I had won the cap and that I would bring it in for them to see it. They were excited too. I am proud to have become a supporter of Netroots Nation and I think probably would have made a donation to the cause even without the reward of the auction items. So I feel a little guilty about raising this question, but I can't help but wonder where the cap is. The auction was here among my friends at DKOS so I know it was completely legit. But still...
It's not that I have to get the cap right away or I will be upset; it's just that I have no word from anyone about how long I am likely to have to wait. I have sent a couple of emails to the auction sight, and I have posted twice on open threads asking for info. So far, not a peep.
I'm sure there is a simple and easy fix to this. Would someone please tell me what it is? Again, I hesitated to diary this question because it did not seem worth bothering others with it. But you know how you can sometimes be on the phone, on hold, and after a certain amount of time you begin to wonder if you have been cut off and the other person is waiting for you to hang up and call back? But you don't want to because that might be the worst thing to do? Well, that's sort of where I am right at the moment.
My credit card was charged right after the auction, so I know I have not been forgotten. Does someone need to know my mailing address? Information please.
